 It's a wake up call that we just cannot be dependent on the government to take care of us. We need to get a good backup plan while we still can.

 I feel for all of those employees that were furloughed. I hope that it doesn't affect the holiday season too much for them and their families since they went for a little while without a paycheck.  What are we going to do? I think that we need to try to make the best of it, but be prepared to stand firm and not let it take us down. And when I say that, I mean that we need to be completely self sufficient. So that no matter what happens we will still be standing.

Why I want to work from home!!

I love living in the hills away from the hustle and bustle of the City.  I am listening to the crickets out in the darkness of the night.  There's nothing like the quiet nights in my part of the world listening to the crickets chirping in the darkness of the night.  

If I could live anywhere in the whole world,  my first choice is to live in my hometown.  

The only problem with that is there is just about no economy in this small town of mine. The Secret to Confidence

Find the secret to having confidence in yourself.

I have been reading books written by confident individuals in order to learn how to have confidence myself.  I thought that I wasn't picking up anything from reading so much, but the other day proved me wrong.  Things are starting to sink in.

Yesterday I had to go to an event by myself.  I was stressing over it because I didn't have anyone else's confidence to lean on.  I usually go with someone and melt into the background just as the smiling sidekick.  This time I was on my own.
I was contemplating what to say to feel intelligent around the extremely intelligent people that I was surrounded by.  I got there and decided that I would approach whoever I could and start a conversation.  By the end of the day I was talking nonstop with people that I held in high esteem.  I was fluently adding substantive value to our conversations.
Now I look back at how I transformed from the little mouse in the corner that couldn't think of anything to talk about and afraid that the words that came out my mouth would be ridiculous to the people around me.  The reason I was the way I was is because I surrounded myself individuals that ridiculed me and I let their ridicule keep in down.  I was afraid to step up and take the chance around other people.  I used to join in making fun of myself all the time, thinking I was being funny to people.  All I was doing was reinforcing the lack of confidence in myself.
I started reading inspiring authors who teach you how to value yourself and that helped me to believe that I am a valuable human being that is worth a whole lot.  I started listening to team leaders who believe anyone from any walk of life can be whatever they want to be.  Quite a few years ago someone gave me a little plaque that said "God don't make no Junk", I think that was over 30 years ago.  It has taken me this long to have the confidence in me to realize it.
While my self esteem was very low, I was trying to get into sales.  Sales is not a place for someone that has a very low self esteem.  Lack of confidence radiates from you and you can't make any sales.  It is good that I am now applying the principles of Authors like Zig Zigler, Jon Acuff, and Napolean Hill, because now I am seeing drastic changes in myself.  I am holding my head high in confidence.
I went to a Celebrate Recovery thing at church, thinking that I had to re-hash all the bad things in my life to get over them.  When in reality all I have to do is START living a life that I can be proud of and put the old ways behind me, never looking back. Never to be a victim of circumstance again.   That is the true road to recovery for me.

How May I Serve You??

To serve or expect to be served?  That is the question.  The best way to start a profitable business is to put others before yourself.

However, to serve has become a forgotten idea in the world more often than not.  It seems like people are mostly out for themselves.  When you get good service now you are surprised.  It is no longer the common thing in businesses.

If you want that kind of world it has to start with yourself.  You can't rely on someone else starting.  Have a mind set everyday that you wake up about looking for ways to serve others.  Be the person that puts others first and you will find that you are making friends with ease.  People will start respecting you and your opinion because they will believe that you genuinely care about them, as you do.

A Simple Idea!!

An idea will stretch your imagination.  Do you just wonder what kind of world this would be if we just spend everyday trying to come up with just one idea to make life a little better for someone in your life?

I'm trying to think of the last time that I came up with an original idea.  As I sit here thinking about my day today. Just in my day today I had a few small ideas that improved my imediate life around me.

My first idea today I went to the store and saw these things that my daughter uses to hold the new baby up while you are nursing him.  It is called a boppy.  Anyway we were going to buy a new cover for it. It cost about $15-$30 just for the slip cover.  I thought. . . I can make one of those easy and it would be unique.  I made one today out of a cheap yard of material.  I'll make another one tomorrow.
Then after I finished that I saw a couple yard section of material that I had laying around.  Now it's a cribd sheet for the new grandbaby.  Then as I was sewing, I thought of lots of things I could make with the material I had collected through the years.  Another idea that I came up with is that I can use the internet to help me figure out how to do anything I want. I just have to get the idea and then google how to do it.
I was going to have coffee and it was hot so I made an iced coffee with almond milk and a bit of vanilla flavoring.
Anyway, my point is that we do little things all day long that challenge our creativity.  When I sat down and started to write tonight, all I could think about is that I don't have any ideas.  Think all I had to do was think about this day and I came up with something to write about.
Thats what I like about hanging with successful leadership,  because they encourage you to draw creativity out of yourself.
I just want to go to bed tonight and think about what creative idea I can come up with tomorrow that will change something in my life.  As I write this down I am smiling about it.
